Maike is a Real Estate Professional in Vancouver, Canada. This is the portfolio site for her previous career in television and media.
Previously Maike has been a commercial model for over 10 years. She’s been featured in TV commercials and print campaigns for clients such as; Sunsilk, Ponds, Pantene, Close-Up, Sony, Nescafe, Nokia and many more. Her first billboard was for a telecom in Manila, Philippines.
She got her TV Presenting start with MTV Philippines and hasn’t looked back. After a year with MTV, where she honed her skills for hosting live events in front of crowds in the hundreds and occasionally thousands, she moved on to corporate events such as product launches,company parties and awardings.
Maike returned to TV as the host of the Filipino Poker Tour. Here she learned all about the sport and competed in a few tournaments on the side. She also co-hosted, for a short time, a car racing show called ‘Slipstream’ in Manila, Philippines. Maike got her fill of lifestyle and events hosting with the short-lived website ‘Alive Manila’ .com
She’s written for and contributed to a number of publications in the Philippines including the broadsheets: The Manila Standard and The Philippine Inquirer as well as a handful of local magazines.
She returned to the music scene as a VJ for Channel V Philippines. Here she interviewed many local acts and a few international ones including Chris Allen, Jason Castro and the Jabbawockeez.
Maike has been on the cover of many magazines within Asia, the latest being Smile for Cebu Pacific in 2012.
She’s currently one of the hosts for the lifestyle program City Lights on Novus TV in Vancouver, Canada. As travel and presenting are both passions of hers, she’s combined these in her recently launched travel and lifestyle video-blog.
Maike has a degree in Social Science from UNE, Australia.
She continues to travel whenever she can, discovering the world one flight at a time.
